Dr. John Repke has served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
since November 1st, 2002. Dr. Repke brings impeccable credentials to this role. He is a
respected clinician, educator, and researcher who brings tremendous leadership to one
of the largest and most visible departments at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
Dr. Repke came to Hershey from the University of Nebraska
Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska where he has served as Professor and Chairman of
Obstetrics and Gynecology from1998-2002. Prior to his tenure at UNMC, Dr. Repke served as Associate
Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School and Director
of the Center for Labor and Birth at Brigham and Women’s Hospital from 1992-98, and as a faculty
member at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1982-92.
Dr. Repke received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University
(1974), his medical degree from New York Medical College (1978), and subsequently completed his Ob/Gyn
residency (1978-1982) and Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship (1982-1984) at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Repke's clinical interests include high-risk pregnancy, pre-eclampsia and hypertension, and medical complications
of pregnancy. Dr. Repke is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), and is a Fellow of the American Gynecological and
Obstetrical Society (AGOS), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and is a full member of
the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) and The Society for Gynecologic Investigation (SGI). Dr. Repke is also
Past President of The North American Society for the Study of Hypertension in Pregnancy. Dr. Repke serves as an
Examiner for The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Inc. in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology and
in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is the author of over 250 publications, has presented numerous abstracts at national
and international scientific meetings and has edited a textbook of Obstetrics. |
