We are a women's educational, research, and
health care center that includes a wide variety of general
women's health care, gynecologic care, infertility, prenatal and
genetic counseling, obstetrics care, women's gynecologic cancer
care, and research education in women's health. We are located
at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery We are committed to offering state of the art
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) services for our patients
with advanced laparoscopic surgical procedures performed in new
state of the art "Laparoscopic Surgical Suites".
Through the Division of Women's Health, we have physicians specializing in MIS options including Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy
(LSH), Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) and Laparoscopic Myomectomy.We offer diagnostic and operative hysteroscopic services including hysteroscopic tubal sterilization, endometrial and fibroid resection along with global
endometrial ablation technologies.We also offer outpatient MIS services at the Hershey Outpatient Surgery Center (HOSC) on the medical campus at Cherry Drive.
Women's Health
The division of Women's Health provides services in all areas of benign gynecology
and
normal obstetrics.
The division offers diagnostic
and operative laparoscopy, colposcopy, laser surgery, cystoscopy, urodynamics, vaginal surgery, permanent fertility control,
treatment
of vulvadynia, assessment of urinary incontinence
and vaginal reconstructive procedures.We also evaluate and treat women with problems related to urologic gynecology, adolescent gynecology, menopause,
cervical and perineal dysplasia and condylomata.
Research is conducted in
premenopausal osteoporosis and
lifestyle determinants of menstrual irregularity.
Maternal Fetal Medicine The division of Maternal Fetal Medicine provides
comprehensive care to obstetrical patients with high-risk
pregnancies in a family-centered setting. The
division provides many services
including ultrasound, amniocentesis, fetal monitoring systems,
and other special laboratory studies. Team care with members of the department
of Anesthesia and Pediatrics is fostered for delivery and immediately post partum.
Reproductive Endocrinology
The division of Reproductive Endocrinology &Infertility provides comprehensive evaluation of infertile couples,
with a special effort made to treat the couple as a unit.
We offer diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy,
hysteroscopy, ovulation induction, microscopic tubal reconstructive surgery, and surgical management
of developmental
abnormalities of the Mullerian ducts. We also
offerother assisted reproductive technologies including
in vitro fertilization, cyropreservation, and ovum donation.
Gynecology/Oncology The division of Gynecologic Oncology provides consultation and specialized treatment of female genital tract malignancies and dysplasias of the cervix,
vagina, and vulva. Patient care is provided by a team approach consisting of residents and attending staff. This division also actively participates in Gynecologic
Oncology Group protocols, evaluating the most recent chemotherapeutic agents available from the National Cancer Institute.
