Question 5: What else should you check in your physical exam?

Schiotz Tonometry: After anesthetizing the cornea, a primary care physician can use a Schiotz device with a given weight. Resulting indentation indicates the IOP. Top normal for IOP is 21.5 mm Hg. In her case, you find an IOP of 22.5.
You refer her to an ophthalmologist who does several tests, including testing of visual field. Changes/Loss of vision in the patient's visual field can be measured using an automated visual field examination at the the opthalmologist's office. Damage can occur in various patterns including this classic arcuate defect.
