Faculty Comments - Vision Change Case 2 - Answer 2:

Question 2: What does the presence of pain tell you? Blurry or Changed Vision?

Answer:
Conjunctivitis is
not associated with either significant eye pain or vision problems. The Cornea, however, has well-developed sensory fibers and can produce intense pain and a foreign body sensation.

Uveitis (inflammation of the iris, ciliary body and choroid) will cause blurrred vision because of an aqueous flare or increased protein and photophobia because of the existance of cells in the aqueous humor with accompanying ciliary body spasm. Pupil size and response to light will also be affected because of involvement of the iris.
