Question 1: If you could only ask whether or not she had two symptoms, which two would be the most important to know?

Answer: Pain and blurry vision
are the most important. Although not absolute, they usually help differentiate benign illness with more serious pathology.

Conjunctivitis - Inflammation of the conjunctiva Irritation, itching
Scleritis - Localized, raised hyperemic lesion. More serious then episcleritis Severe, "boring" pain
Iritis Pain, photophobia, blurry vision
Angle Closure Glaucoma Pain, HA, nausea, visual "halos"
Keratitis: eg herpes simplex keratitis Pain, blurry vision
Foreign Body Pain, foreign body sensation
Lacrimal Problems Pain in lacrimal area
