Clearly, you don't have enough history, you need to pursue the QRST questions in this case as you would for cases like abdominal or chest pain. You need to know:
How exactly did his eye sight change:
Quality: How exactly did his vision change? Was it a change in acuity? A loss in a visual field? Did he see floaters?
Severe: How severe was it? Was it total? Was it in both eyes?
Time: When did this happen? How long did this last?
Remission/Exacerbation: Did anything make it worse or better? Did he try taking anything, and what effect (if any) did that have?
