The University Physician Group on Front Street in Harrisburg takes one 3rd year medical student per month for the Family Practice Clerkship and one for the Primary Care (AHEC) Clerkship. The office has two physicians one nurse practitioner doing primary care. One family practice physician comes to the office one half-day a week to see obstetric patients. During the family medicine rotation, you will be exposed to a wide range of patients varying from infancy to geriatrics. An array of office procedures, including skin biopsies, cryosurgery, arthrocentesis, and gynecological exams are performed by our physicians. Additionally, students have the opportunity to perform laboratory procedures including venipunctures, immunizations, urinalyses, and EKGs.
