The Rheumatology Division physicians diagnose and treat arthritis, immune
disorders of muscles, connective tissue diseases, and a variety of soft tissue
inflammatory conditions.
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis, systemic
lupus erythematosus, spondyloarthropathies, vasculitis, gout, infectious arthritis,
scleroderma, and other rheumatic
diseases are seen at the University Physician Center.
Consultation and ongoing clinical care are offered.
This division is active in research studies of rheumatologic disorders,
autoimmunity, infectious causes of rheumatic diseases, and therapeutics. Penn
State Rheumatology also provides extensive patient education.
Penn State rheumatologists have received numerous awards for their
participation in Central Pennsylvania Arthritis Foundation educational
activities and projects.
