Fellowship Program
The goal of the fellowship program in
Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine is to prepare pulmonary and
critical care specialists for medicine in the 21st Century with
a three-year training program focusing on clinical competence,
formal teaching, research and community service. Fellows begin
pulmonary function testing interpretation and learn bronchoscopy.
The second year rotations in Critical Care include Anesthesia,
Surgical Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Radiology,
Nutrition, Nephrology, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The
progress is monitored with in-service examinations provided by
the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and a self-assessment
scale rating both a sense of competency and comfort in
performing procedures. |
