Research is profoundly exciting and challenging. Investigators require a vast and varied network of support to ensure success. Our mission at The Office of Research Affairs at The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and The Penn State College of Medicine, is to use our expertise to work with investigators to promote, foster, and sustain excellence in basic and clinical research.

We assist researchers and staff with all pre and post-award activities, including budget and grant development, cost recovery, compliance, institutional reporting, and training mandates. We are committed to providing continuous training and education opportunities to all institutional representatives on research compliance, grant preparation and development, contract review, and emerging research trends.

In collaboration with other offices, we strive to provide leadership which promotes the protection of human subject volunteers, the safety of research personnel, the humane treatment of research animals, the stewardship of research funds, the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and objectivity in the research process.
