Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Research areas include: structure, function, and evolution of macromolecules;
and genetic, enzymatic, and metabolic regulation. Areas of specialization
include cell surface metalloproteinases in development and kidney function,
mucin glycoproteins and tumor antigens, gangliosides in brain development and
infection, molecular genetics of anesthesia, early
genomic and cellular events in carcinogenesis, mechanisms of chromatin
remodeling, signal transduction in growth and differentiation, cell-cell
recognition and adhesion. RNA processing and transport, subcellular protein
trafficking, regulation of RNA and DNA polymerase functions, protein-ligand
interactions, transcriptional regulation, and protein folding. Contact
