Setup Instructions for the Wireless Network Access
on a Windows XP PRO laptop
Please note
Windows XP Home edition may not be compatible with the Hersheymed Wireless Network Set-UP.

Minimum specs for wireless access:
1. Card must support WPA.
2. Card must be 802.11b capable.
3. Must
support 802.1x PEAP authentication.
4. User needs account on HERSHEYMED domain.
Windows XP PRO
Install your wireless card according to the manufacturer
specifications.
Configure the wireless network exactly as the screenshots
indicate:
Go to Start, Settings, Network Connections, Wireless
Network Connections:

Click on "Change Advanced Settings" on the left side.

Click on "Wireless Networks" Tab at the top:

Click on Add
button

Type "pscomnet"
(do not use quotes) for the network name (SSID)
Make certain Network Authentication is "WPA" and
Data encryption is set to "TKIP"

Click on Authentication
tab at the top.
Make certain Enable IEEE 802.1x is checked and
EAP type is Protected EAP (PEAP)
Click on Properties button

Uncheck
Validate server certificate.
Click on Configure button.

Uncheck Automatically use
Windows logon name. (unless you use your epass to log on
to your computer.)

Click OK, OK, OK and OK
Click on the Wireless Icon in the Taskbar (bottom right)

You must
enter your ePass credentials:

Username
is your ePass
Password is your ePass password
Logon domain is HERSHEYMED
