HIV Genotyping for Drug Resistance
The staff of the Penn State Special
Hematology Lab has been trained and certified by Visible Genetics, Inc. to perform their
TruGeneTM HIV-1 Assay: Protease and RT Genotyping for Drug Resistance.
The assay utilizes a proprietary bi-directional DNA sequencing chemistry.
Sequences are compared to an established library of know mutations causing drug
resistance.
