HCV Genotyping

Penn State Special Hematology Laboratory performs HCV Genotyping by the Innogenetics Line Probe Assay (LiPA) utilizing reverse hybridization methodology.  This method is able to determine six genotypes and numerous subtypes within each type.  Knowledge of the genotype is a useful tool in predicting response to drug therapies.
