Stem Cell Transplantation

Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation 

Autologous means “self”. Autologous stem cell transplants involve collection of the patient's cells which are frozen and used later following high dose chemotherapy.  This chemotherapy is given to kill cancer cells, and the patient is then infused with their own stem cells. Autologous stem cell transplantation is most commonly used for patients with relapsed solid tumors including:
