How The Four Diamonds Fund can help you?
The Four Diamonds Fund contributes to the care provided to
children with cancer at Penn State Children’s Hospital in many different ways.
First, we provide funding for many of the health professionals who provide
direct care. It takes a team of individuals to meet the complex needs of
patients and their families. With the help of the Four Diamonds Fund, the
Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Penn State Children’s Hospital has developed a
strong team of professionals to provide care and support during the struggle of
the diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.
- Specialized pediatric oncology nurses
- Social workers
- Child Life Specialists
- Music Therapist
- Clinical Psychologist
- Clinical Nutritionist
We also provide financial and staff support to programs for children and their
families.
Siblings Unique Day - a special day for the siblings of children with cancer.
The day provides information and fun in the hospital to enhance the
understanding and comfort of siblings
Parent's Night Out - an
educational/support program that is held twice a year and
provides parents with information related to families facing a
diagnosis of childhood cancer.
Childhood Cancer Survivor’s Day - an informational day for young
adults who have survived cancer.
Parent Support Group - held the first Friday and
the third Monday of each month in the hospital.
It is a time for
hospitalized parents to get together to share and support each other. It is
facilitated by a social worker and a “veteran” parent.
Children’s Remembrance Ceremony - held yearly, it is a day to remember and
celebrate the lives of children who have passed away at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
