The staff of the Endocrinology & Diabetes evaluates adult patients with endocrine abnormalities including
growth failure, abnormal hair growth, and metabolic problems, as well as
thyroid, parathyroid, diabetes, pancreatic, gonadal, pituitary, and adrenal diseases. We
also evaluate and treat patients with osteoporosis, and other metabolic bone
diseases, and help adult patients
with diabetes manage the disease. Surgery
to treat a particular endocrinology disease is performed by trained surgeons
with the full support from a medical endocrinologist and Core
Endocrine Laboratory and radiology services.
The Division of
Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism continues to pursue its multiple
missions of research, education, and patient care with local and national
recognition in each area. A national survey ranked Penn State’s Milton S.
Hershey Medical Center’s Endocrinology Division among the top 100 in the
country for management of glandular disorders and diabetes.
