Jan
S. Ulbrecht is Professor of Biobehavioral
Health and Medicine at Penn State University. Dr.
Ulbrecht's research interests include the foot in diabetes,
diabetic neuropathy, diabetes complications in
general, clinical diabetes, behavior as treatment
for diabetes, diabetes prevention, systems of care
for diabetes and diabetes prevention, macronutrients and diabetes,
metabolic bone disease, and lipid metabolism. He has
authored or co-authored numerous journal articles, abstracts,
and book chapters and he is a member of the graduate faculty
at Penn State University. He holds memberships with the
American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, and American
Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. His clinical practice
in Endocrinology and Metabolism is based at Centre Medical
and Surgical Associates of State College, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Ulbrecht received his medical degree from Worchester
College, Oxford University, England and University College
Hospital Medial School, University of London, England. He
completed his internship at Stafford Royal Infirmary, Stafford,
England and Basingstoke District Hospital, Basingstoke,
England. His residency was completed at State University
of New York, Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, New York.
He also held a Fellowship in Endocrinology and
Metabolism at the University of Pittsburgh
School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
