T. Ammirati, M.D. are board certified
dermatologists who also have completed fellowship training in Mohs Micrographic
Surgery and dermatologic surgery. Mohs surgery is a precise method for
removal of skin cancers, especially on the face. Layers of tissue are
removed and the entire surgical margins are examined under the microscope while
the patient waits. This method has the highest cure rate for the treatment of skin cancer and also
produces the smallest wound possible. A variety of reconstructive
procedures, including skin grafts and flaps, are then used to repair these
wounds.
