Hair Disorders
Clinical investigations include the etiology, treatment, and the
psychological impact of hair and scalp disorders. Research activities in
telogen effluvium focus on a standardized measurement for hair loss.
Investigational drug studies are focusing on the treatment of androgenetic
alopecia.
In conjunction with Dr. Miller, studies on the histologic
characteristics of hair follicles and sebaceous glands in various forms of
alopecia are being conducted, along with examining the expression of integrin adhesion
molecules on hair follicles during the hair cycle.
