| Description |
This observational study will
evaluate several vision tests designed to reveal whether impaired visual
function and retinal dysfunction associated in patients with or without
diabetes may be an identifier future evaluations of therapies aimed at early
diabetic disease. |
| What is expected of me? |
Participants will be asked to
provide a medical and ocular history, view eye charts, perform various
visual field tests (peripheral vision) to determine how dim of a light can
be detected on a background and a blood test to assess how well your
diabetes is controlled. |
| Inclusion Criteria |
This study is seeking both healthy volunteers and
volunteers with a history of diabetes for at least 7 years, with or
without diabetic retinopathy. Participant need to be between the age of
18 and 60 years old, and have a blood pressure ≤160/110mmHg. |
| Exclusion Criteria |
Participants with any eye condition or disease that may impair vision
other than diabetic retinopathy and or have significant renal disease.

| Length of Study |
Participant will have 2 visits
within 3 weeks, lasting 2-3hours each. |
