| Description |
This research study will evaluate
the movement of the intestines and pressure changes in the rectum and
abdominal muscles in order to understand the physiology of defecation. |
| What is expected of me? |
At one visit have the following
tests: anorectal manometry, measurement of the electrical activity of
muscles (EMG) and defecography. Healthy subjects will be paid $100.00 to
complete the study. |
| Inclusion Criteria |
Non-pregnant females 20 years and older. |
| Exclusion Criteria |
No symptoms of constipation, not pregnant. |
| Length of Study |
One pre-screen phone call and 1
visit. |
