Description This research study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a research medication for reducing the risk of prostate cancer. Participants will receive either the active research medication or placebo (inactive substance).
What is expected of me? Volunteers will first come in for a screening visit and later for randomization to treatment. Participants will return to the study center for visits every 6 months over the 4 years that they participate in the study. Telephone contact will occur every 3 months to find out if you have had any changes in your health or medications.
Inclusion Criteria Males, 50 – 75 years of age, negative prostate biopsy within 6 months or willingness to have on done
Exclusion Criteria History of prostate cancer, previous prostate surgery, unstable medical conditions, steroids or drug use within the past 12 months
Length of Study 4 years
