Description This research study will evaluate how well an experimental drug (a protein administered in the vein) is tolerated and how effective it is in treating a Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) attack.
What is expected of me? People having an attack will call Dr. Craig within 4 hours of recognizing the symptoms of a moderately severe hereditary angioedema attack. Blood tests, ECG and physical exam will be done, a catheter will be inserted in the vein and the drug infused over 10 minutes. You will be monitored for 4-8 hours; contacted by phone for 5 days after treatment; return to the clinic 7 and 28 days after treatment for blood tests, ECG and physical exam. A daily diary will be done for the first 7 days after treatment.
Inclusion Criteria Age 10 or older. Diagnosed with hereditary angioedema.
Exclusion Criteria Pregnant, breastfeeding, abnormal liver or kidney function.
