Ryan and Margie Jones were expecting their first
child, a baby boy. At her 19-week ultrasound, Margie's obstetrician discovered the baby
had a heart condition and referred her to a perinatologist for further testing. Fortunately
for the Jones Family, their unborn child received the areas' most advanced heart care
close to home because of an enhanced relationship between Penn State Children's Heart
Group and Pinnacle Health physicians.  The specialists now work closely together to
provide consultation and care for children before and after birth.
On June 5th, Christian Jones was born at Harrisburg Hospital where both groups of
physicians cared for him in the neonatal intensive care unit. Just four days later, he was
transferred to Penn State Children's Hospital for surgery to repair his heart. Thanks to
the team of specialists working together, Ryan and Margie now have a beautiful and healthy
baby boy.
