Pediatric Cardiology
General Pediatric Cardiology Conditions
Fetal echocardiography & arrhythmia management and consultation
Noninvasive testing and cardiology/cardiac surgical
consultation provides a complete evaluation of an unborn baby’s heart.
As a team, this allows us to prepare for treatment or surgery that will
be needed after delivery. If
necessary, it also allows us to treat a baby’s irregular heartbeat
prior to delivery.
Chest Pain
Chest pain is common in children and often involves
problems with the chest wall and asthma.
The Children’s Heart Group offers the only chest pain clinic in
the country. Patients with
chest pain are not only evaluated but also effectively treated.
Syncope
Syncope is difficulty with dizziness or passing
out. This accounts for many childhood emergency room visits. Our team provides a unique comprehensive program for the
successful treatment of this disorder.
Hyperlipidemia
The beginnings of coronary artery disease that
leads to heart attacks in adults start in childhood.
This program works with children and families affected by this
problem so that future heart attacks in adulthood can be avoided.
Exercise Related Pulmonary Function Testing
Sometimes the limit on a child’s activity is
asthma. This testing
provides information used to improve a child’s ability to exercise.
Pacemaker
When the heart rhythm no longer provides adequate
heart function in children it requires special attention. Our pacemaker program brings together pediatric cardiologists
and surgeons to provide the necessary expertise for pacemaker placement
and monitoring of the heart. |
