Q.  What is a heart catheterization ?

A. Cardiac catheterization is an in-hospital  procedure used to view the heart and its blood vessels.  A special team of technicians nurses, and physicians performs this procedure.

Q.  Will I need other tests before the heart catheterization?

A. Your child's cardiologist will discuss the test with you.  Usually any other tests that are needed before the heart catheterization, such as blood and x-ray, are done on the morning of admission. 

Q.  Where do I wait during the catheterization ?
