Kids Helping Kids – A Walk for Healthy Hearts

Children all across the US are being asked to participate in the 2nd Annual “Walk for Healthy Hearts,” a benefit fundraiser for the Brian Littrell Healthy Heart Club. The Club, founded by Brian Littrell, who is a member of the Backstreet Boys, along with his mom, Jackie Littrell, helps children ages 8 to 12 to be heart healthy.  In an 8 week session, these children learn how to exercise, eat properly, be aware of their blood pressure and activity level, and how to build a better self esteem.  The Club also maintains a fund for the families of children needing heart surgery.  This fund provides the family with money for all the incidentals they may need while accompanying their child to whatever hospital has been chosen to perform the surgery.

With the focus being on the children, we are encouraging other children around the country to participate in a walk to help raise money to keep the Healthy Heart Club strong so that it may continue to carry out its work.  You do not need to be a Backstreet Boy Fan to participate, just someone who wants to help a child grow into a strong and healthy adult.

The Walk in Central Pennsylvania will take place at 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 1st, 2003, at Wildwood Nature Sanctuary, in Harrisburg, PA.  The participants will complete a 3.1 mile walk around the lake.
