Reaching Out
Wyoming
Valley Pediatric Partnership
A new outreach partnership has been developed between
Penn State Children's Hospital and Wyoming Valley Health
Care System to implement a regional nexus of advanced
pediatric services for the Luzerne and Lackawanna county
region. Penn State specialists will offer services at
540 Pierce Street in Kingston, a short remove from
Wyoming Valley's Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. The new
Partnership will enhance regional pediatric offering in
a variety of areas shown below. In addition to the
regular rotation of Children's Hospital specialists
seeing patients at this clinic, telemedicine technology
will be implemented to enhance service coverage, quality
and efficiency. Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, the
acute care component of the Wyoming Valley Health Care
System, is northeastern Pennsylvania's largest community
hospital, with a medical staff of over 400 physicians,
representing nearly 50 medical and surgical specialties.
For more than 130 years, Wilkes-Barre General has
provided its patients with access to the most
progressive medical techniques and technologies
available in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The new
partnership between Wyoming Valley Health Care System
and Penn State Children's Hospital continues the
hospital's tradition of excellence in care by enhancing
pediatric offerings and providing patients with easy
access to the expertise of Penn State specialists.
