Research

Research in the Department of Anesthesiology is conducted by numerous faculty, residents, post-docs and technicians and generally falls into three distinct but highly complementary arenas: Basic, Clinical, and Simulation/Education. 

• Basic Research in anesthesiology is conducted in two laboratories which are under the leadership of Dr. Keith Elmslie and Dr. Victor Ruiz-Velasco. 

• The Clinical Research efforts in the department are led by Dr. Piotr Janicki.

• Simulation/Education Research is spearheaded by Drs. Bosseau Murray, Leonard Pott and Elizabeth Sinz.

• The Joseph Priestley Resident Research Scholarship is available for residents who desire to become researchers and academic anesthesiologists.
