The Agricultural Safety and Health Program

Several different efforts and activities make up the Agricultural Safety and Health Program. Major components include demonstrations and simulators for educational programs; fact sheets and brochures on farm hazards, and for particular audiences, injury statistics that convey the magnitude of the farm injury problem; and resources and programs that address response to farm injuries and fire emergencies.

The Agricultural Safety and Health Program works closely with the Pennsylvania Department of agriculture, farm member organizations, the farm insurance industry, youth safety organizations, and other state and professional organizations and agencies to promote farm safety education.

In addition to educational programs, applied research projects help to discover new and more effective ways to promote agricultural safety and health throughout the state.
